Most people would remember the dialog between an annoying donkey and a fat ogre. Donkey continually pokes his head from the back of their horse-drawn cart asking Shrek and Princess Fiona pleadingly in anticipation and impatience of reaching
Many of us International Students could identify with Donkey on the 4th of August. We were all counting down the minutes till 7.30pm, the highlight of many students’ fortnight.
As with any other OxyGen meeting, the night started with Praise and Worship, acoustic style. A different flavour to our usual meetings but nonetheless, brought in a fresh presence of God. Pastor Mike, the speaker for the night, challenged us to offer all that we have to the ministry and to God, as did the young boy with his 5 loaves and 2 fishes in the bible.
To add spice and flavour to the night, Ernestine and Jia Ching’s lifegroup presented us with a skit, “What can I do for you?” acting out God’s love to mankind through different ways. Alvin Teng and Mary Loh too presented a song in Mandarin. Truly special as that spoke of the differences in OxyGen. The very differences that brought us together in a unique way.
